Toastess are a brand that you may not have come across yet but they are a well known and reputable appliance manufacturer. This snazzy warming tray, the Toastess TWT-40 is one of their products in the food warming department. It is quite unlike some food warming trays as it is specifically designed for setting plates on rather than chafing dishes. This makes it especially great for home use as at home you may not have a chafing dish or want one.
The design of the tray is rather elegant and simple. It stands upon four feet that are molded into a nice arch shape. these feet for standing the warming tray on are also doubling up as the handles for carrying the tray. They are designed to not conduct heat so you can move the tray while it’s still warm. Which is another feature of the warming tray, it will stay warm for up to an hour after unplugging so you can use it as a cordless option for up to an hour. As this warming tray is 1000-watt it will quickly heat up within 8 minutes and hold that heat for up to one hour.
The surface area of the Toastess TWT-40 warming tray is designed for 4 plates and there is a TWT-30 model that is designed for four plates. It may not be suitable for holding chafing dishes as with its design but it is large enough to hold such chafing dishes.
Overall it’s a great home-use food warming tray that will satisfy you. However, something that might annoy you about the Toastess TWT-40 is that it doesn’t have an on/off switch or a temperature control. Plus the power cable is rather short so you may need to use an extension cord to get a longer power cord length. Even with these small hiccups it’s a great product aimed at the home-use market, holds up to 4 plates and is elegantly designed. It’s sure to please when it comes to warming foods
